For optimal energy yield, pitch-controlled wind turbines do not just align their hub to suit the wind speed and direction, but also their blades.
The high-resolution magnetic Lenord + Bauer sensors are proven in the accurate adjustment of the blade position, as they can be used straightforwardly even in case of extreme ambient temperatures, humidity, dirt, condensation or heavy vibration. The absolute rotary encoder is mounted on the B side of the blade pitch motor.
For this application, we recommend the magnetic absolute rotary encoder GEL 2037. Its redundant measuring system with integrated electrically isolated resolver and a resolution of 25 bit multiturn are particularly suited for this demanding measuring task. However, some other absolute rotary encoders have proven successful in this application as well.
