Sensor development

Lenord + Bauer is a service provider, developing and manufacturing sensors for rotary and linear scanning of a wide range of measuring scales. There are therefore different sensors available to scan both magnetic and non-magnetic

  • Target wheels
  • Slotted disks
  • Segment/ code disks
  • Toothed racks
  • Slotted tapes
  • Segment/ code tapes

and to detect incremental and/or absolute measuring data.

The sensors employed are based on the
  • Hall effect
  • Magnetoresistive effects such as:
    • Anisotropic MagnetoResistive effect(AMR effect) or
    • Giant Magneto Resistance effect GMR effect)
  • Eddy current principle.

Lenord + Bauer, with its extensive experience working as a leading customer in close cooperation with sensor and ASIC manufacturers, is able to anticipate future developments at an early stage. As a result there is often joint involvement in establishing important parameters for these sensors.

To ensure reliable development and production of sensors, Lenord + Bauer maintains an appropriate in-house infrastructure. The continuously expanded sensor development department thus has access to the latest equipment in its own development and application laboratory.
