 The task:

The plates for a lead battery are to be picked up and transported by a cam chain. The cam has to connect with the rear edge of the lead plate without damaging it.

 Method of solution:

For the cam to be able to pick up the lead plates without damaging them, the cam and the lead plate must be totally synchronized at the moment of contact. Once the cam has connected with the rear edge of the plate, the speed of the chain is then changed depending on the size of the plate, in order to synchronize the next cam to the next rear edge.

 Our solution:

Lead plates are transported on a cam chain conveyor. To ensure that the cams always connect with the rear edge of the lead plate, the Lenord+Bauer “rotating cutter” controller is used to synchronize the cam chain with the rear edge of the lead plate.
