Our solutions are also used in process and basic industries - perhaps best illustrated with two raw materials that couldn't be more different: steel and wood.

The steel industry has seen a sharp upturn - most recently with the booming Chinese economy sourcing its demand for raw materials worldwide. Lenord + Bauer sensors are used in steel mills where temperatures are extreme. Among other things, they measure the position, length and transport speed of the red-hot slabs.

By contrast, forestry has entirely different requirements, but requirements that are just as complex. Speed sensors made by Lenord + Bauer are used in forestry machinery that cuts trees out in the forest to predefined lengths, simultaneously recording the amount of wood. The robust sensor system can withstand the knocks and vibrations in this harsh outdoor environment.
