| Sensing angle positions of rotor blades |
|
|
The task:
In order to be able to adjust the angle of rotor blades in wind power stations in response to
changing wind conditions, a robust sensor has to record the current values.
Method of solution:
A particularly reliable, robust sensor that can withstand vibrations, temperature
fluctuations and dampness can help to dispense with service activities at dizzying heights as much
as possible.
- Deployment of a magnetic sensor system
- Data transfer to the controller via sensor
- Redundant connection of SSI, tachometer, resolver
Our solution:
The muliturn absolute rotary encoder from the GEL 2035 series provides a clear position value
for each angle setting of the blades via an SSI interface with resolutions of up to 24 bits. The multiturn stage is based on an electronic memory chip that stores the number of
revolutions without any wear and tear. A buffer battery ensures that the functionality of the absolute encoder is maintained in the
case of power outages. Even in the case of movement of the angle encoder when power is off, the current position
value is always correctly provided directly after power is switched on.
Our service offering:
Customized solutions: we have developed a particularly compact solution as installation space in the hub is
valuable.
Customer benefits:
- A robust technological design ensures safe, unproblematic operation – essential in particular
for offshore wind power stations that are difficult to access
- Optimum utilization of wind power
Why Lenord + Bauer?
- Robust sensor (resistant to dirt, vibration, condensation and temperature
fluctuations)
- Joint development with customers
- Availability of spare parts
